VISVIM

(the newest Visvim FBT "Ancestor" out for the S/S 2007 line.)

Visvim... mmm...

I've wanted a pair of Visvim for so damn long, but it's just the fact that they cost too damn much; I've never owned a pair nor seen a real pair in person, but the pictures speak a thousand words...

Visvim is a Japanese fashion label that ventures primarily in stylish, quality and functional shoes. The brand was created by Hiroki Nakamura in the year 2000. In less than a few years, the brand soared to the top of Japanese urban/street fashion market and is now dominant among its own genre of shoe lines.

The thing I like about Visvim shoes is that they are too simple and too fresh, the styles are somewhat of alternations from ordinary shoes we see everyday, but are alternated with new bits of twists and high quality materials. However, if you pay close attention to their shoes, you'll see that the details and quality way surpass close to any high end branded shoes you see on the market, including Prada or LV.

I don't know enough to keep blurbing, so I'll just provide you some eye candies, all pictures from Firmament.com and Yahoo! auctions Taiwan, enjoy!

Pretty much my MOST WANTED VISVIM because it's a limited edition with the collaboration of Neighborhood. They are so simple and so dope; the inner is lined with leather too.

Vivim x Fragment Serra, one of the most sought-after Visvim model.

Visvim Moccasin, there are the two-rings edition too but I couldn't find the pictures. Gotta love the stitch highlights.

07 S/S FBT Ancestor collection

Straight beauty, check out the elk leather.

Newer model: Logan, made with elk leather as well, check out the details.

My Nike ID had arrived

NIKE ID REPORT

With flash

With no flash

Yep Yep

At last, my Nike ID arrived a few days ago. This will be my very first pair of Nike IDs, and thank the lord it happens to be my MOST WANTED colorway, All black leather upper, white midsole, and black outsole. Simple, easy, and dope.

I've always wanted a clean, simple looking pair of shoes, the only shoe model I can find is Dunks, Air Force 1, and maybe Visvim shoe models, but then the Visvims are too damn expensive; I had to once settle with this pair, which is NOT CHEAP AT ALL:

The legendary Nike x Stussy snake skin dunk hi plus b

However, I personally really do prefer low tops.

Now that I've got both, I can't be happier, especially the Nike ID was only priced at $100($116 w/ tax and shipping).

The quality was superb, I love the lining inside, though I'd wish they were lined with leather like the Stussy's, but I'll settle with synthetic leather meshes.

Overall, this pair had been my best buy so far; I recommend you guys strongly, to go design right now and create that special pairs of yours!

Have fun!

Here are some pictures of me wearing my IDs and Stussy's, no I'm not showing off, just throwing some pictures...

Gotta love that tan/purple laces, they just match the shoes so damn well.

Wearing: Neighborhood Jacket and Jeans, and Stussy x Nike dunk hi.

NBHD jeans and Dunk ID, I can go black on black on black all day.

Alright that's it folks! Peace out!

How to spot fake Supreme Dunk SBs?

REAL OR NOT?

Ever get tired of seeing all these fake stuff all over the internet, especially eBay?

When you just want to sit down and browse for some potential steals, you enter "Supreme Dunk" and hundreds of results pop out, but what are the chances of spotting a pair of dunks that actually are BOTH the Supreme dunk AND authentic?

Quite low.

And the saddest thing is, I am seeing people still paying $500+ for fake Supremes thinking they got a steal... and the buyer would leave a good feedback saying "100% authentic thanks a lot!" Be it a dual fraud or a dumbass buyer, I can't stand eBay sometimes.

I was fortunate enough to negotiate two okay deals for authentic supreme dunks back then; and from the course of searching; I've always wondered how to determine fakes as they are seriously everywhere like Starbucks are.

There were quite a few sites, some magazines that teach you how to differentiate, but then you'll never know until you buy yourself a fake pair like I did back then. The purpose of this post is to prevent you from getting owned.

So here it is, this post is dedicated solely on Supreme Dunks, but then it'll work well against other dunk SBs, they are from my experience and chances are I will be right since I've owned both the real and fake ones (or who knows, they're all fakes).

1. Cement Print

The easiest way to tell a pair of Supreme Dunks from being fake is its cement/elephant print. See the picture below, it is FAKE TO THE BONE:

Some of you may not even know, but these look so damn ugly having the knowledge that they are fake.

Fake Supreme Dunks that have textural elephant prints will have a severe brownish tone to them; please compare the picture above to the real deals below:

Authentic Supreme Dunks have a PINKISH tone to the elephant print, and if you can touch it, they are NOT PAPERY like the fake ones that peel with a few wears.

2. Tongues

This applies to virtually ALL older SBs (at least before Tiffanys, after that I gave up on SBs anyway.) Real SBs tend to have "V" or "U" shaped tongues that bend inward with a certain textual appeal to them(that makes people go "hm that looks comfy"); whereas fake SBs tend to have just straight edge that looks somehow just plain cheap and just mesh-ish.

3. Laces

Real Nike SBs ALWAYS have a better and fatter laces than fake ones; the fakes have ridiculously thin laces that just look stupid, these are the things that you can spot in pictures; Nike SB laces look oval yet flat in a way, fake ones have just round and thin laces.

4. Lace Lock (or whatever it is on the middle of the tongue)

Real Nike SBs do not necessarily have the highest quality material for that, but then fake SBs take that to the next level, they sometimes just use a 45 thread count nylon fabric, or shall I say PAPER, for that little piece, I mean the fake manufacturers need to make money right?

Here are a few pictures for example:

1. Flat tongue edge, it should be either V or U curve inward.
2. Lace Lock thing, you probably can't see on the picture, but if you have the actual shoes go check.
3. Laces are very thin
4. The elephant print is wayyyyyyyy too shitty brown.

This pair will probably get some of you fooled.
1. The cement print is new and improved, but it is still "FIRED", because the overall texture is too smooth with no leather feel; there are no pink tone to it, meaning it is probably printed.
2. The fakes still manage to repeat their mistakes by using thin ass laces.
3. The tongues now look more authentic, it is puffy and all that, but the edge still fails to be curvy, I guess the fake makers just can't figure this one out.

1. A clearer view of the edge of the tongue, no cigar.
2. I'm sorry but I don't recall Supreme Dunks come with blue laces, these people should really do some homework, this is such an instant give-a-way.

5. BOX

The boxes are another givaway, however, it is quite hard and unsafe to just rely on the box. Generally, if the fakes are cheap, don't expect them to use high quality boxes either; the fakes will have the fonts and all that copied, but they will ALWAYS fail on the quality:

The sticker color is way off its box color

Here is the real thing:

6. Price

But hey, even if you know ALL the little things about fakes, you are still bound to get some whack fakes, because people will simply put on REAL pictures and sell you fakes so you don't know, when your cement print starts peeling off and you try to find them, eBay tells you that they are "No longer registered member" so you will shut the hell up.

Anyway, price is one thing you can determine, there will be no freaking way you can get a pair of Supreme Dunk DS or NDS for $350 BIN, unless you are extremely lucky, and if you have to read what I have to say, you are NOT lucky. So, take a second to rationalize whether the price is too good to be true, (actually when you buy from me it's always too good to be true, because I'm always desperate for cash, but then I will NOT sell my supremes for $350 bin, even if they're used!)

7. Feedback/Credibility

So, here comes the last check, ALWAYS check the feedback scores, don't just check them, because some of these snakes buy 100 stamps for 5 dollars and then sell 10 normal air maxes for retail prices to fool you into thinking that they're really authentic. So always carefully study their feedback scores before you make your purchase; be sure to ask for some photos with a hand written name tag or even ask for their cell phones and whatnot.

Alright that's about all I have, good luck in finding your pair of REAL SBs, say no to FAKES!

Nike ID: Air Force One and Dunks

Recently Nike had just launched its long-awaited Dunk lo and Dunk Hi IDs that actually featured the most popular option - WHITE midsole; I personally got myself a pair considering the price was quite decent..roughly $120 a pair. Here are some pictures of the actual thing, thanks Niketalk members for sharing:

The "Gucci" dunk colorway that is especially popular among NT, I personally love this combination too, except I hope the out sole could be red.

The quality seems quite nice.

Very nice: Brazil low, City Attack low, Supa, Orange Flash, Michigan low...very nice indeed

Some very fresh colorways

For nostalgics reasons, many people stayed simple with these colorways, maybe they're just CLASSIC.

Extra laces and a special box are provided!

Another NT member that included the Gucci and Reverse City Attack colorway!

So where is mine?

I'll post them up when it arrives, it'll take them about 3-4 weeks to arrive since they do really customize your shoes from scratch.

Next, behold...the NIKE AIR FORCE ONE ID... wow...

$275 a pair though, it allows you to choose three types of materials: full grain leather, nubuck leather, or patent leather, for various areas of the shoes; the color selection is quite good too.

Well, since my colorways are very simple I'll just stick with the Supreme quick strike that was released earlier this year.

A closer look at the DUNK SBs

This blog will be posted and updated in frequently to share some of my sneaker knowledge regarding Dunks, SBs, Air Jordans, and some other exclusive kicks you wonder why prices soars to $1000 or even $3000...

A brief background of Nike Dunk SBs...

First of all, the abbreviation "SB" stems from a simple term: SkateBoard, a lot of heads out there claims that Dunk SB stands for something else but it's simply just wrong.

Dunk SBs are created as a separate department, innovation and hype are two of the key elements as to why the line succeed abnormally. The Dunk SB department tried incorporating street artists such as Futura, skate shops such as Supreme and Chocolate and skateboarders such as Danny Supa to design for their unique colorways for the shoes.

The result of such collaboration was instant success! Nike SB only issues select skateshops to carry the line to begin with, and there were often "rumors" where some of the shoes such as the Heineken's or whatnot were limited in quantity, as a result, a bunch of people camped outside skateshops just to get their pairs, with the help of eBay and online shoe community, the prices soared to sky, and the HYPEBEAST PHENOMENON was born.

However, the peak of Dunk SB hype only lasted until 2006 when the Tiffany dunks were introduced, the heat doesn't seem to last any longer and now the dunk sb price and quantity are slowly getting back to "reasonable" ranges.

Here are some of the colorways worth mentioning in my book:

DUNK SB "SUPREME"

Released about 3 or 4 years ago by Supreme.

The inspiration is needless to mention, from the one and only Air Jordan III cement print, or elephant print. The entire design is just so sick so dope so crazy...

Price when released: around $200
Prices now: around $1000

you can still see a few pairs here and there on eBay now, I think the price for a DS pair will continue to go up to $1200 range.

DUNK "HEINEKEN"

Arguably one of the most recognized and original colorway. I personally think it's too eye grabbing for a pair of shoes but then that's the purpose right?

price when released: aournd $300
price now: roughly $6-800

I haven't seen this pair anymore... the reason so is probably the death of the hype. Many cheap fakes on the net with green laces...yuuuuuuck.

DUNK SB "HOMER"

simple and easy, another pair that I liked. Wasn't that popular for whatever reason, but the quality was superb compared to the SBs nowadays. This pair was only released in Australia, thus the higher price initially released.

Price when released: $250
Price now: $300

Hasn't gone up too much...

DUNK SB "BUCK"

One of my favorite colorway, by the Chairman Phil Knight himself. BUCK is the CEO's nickname in college, the back heel will show "BUCK" instead of NIKE in the stitches, also worth mentioning is that this pair also features some of the better quality suede upper and thinner lounges. One of the most comfortable SBs I've been in, given that all SBs are quite comfy to be wearing.

Price when dropped: around $150 (!!!)
Price now: soared to $300

what a joke...but I guess people really appreciate this pair.

DUNK SB "FUTURA"

Designed by the master FUTURA

Features 3 types of materials: Fine Suede, grain leather, and mesh cloth. Simple and dope at the same time. One of the most original SBs ever.

price when dropped: $200
price now: around $3-400

Can't really find another pair even on eBay.

DUNK SB "DENIM"

Pretty much the most sought after dunk SB for any collector (besides the Paris/London, which in my opinion don't count.)

Being the first series of SB, they are one of the rarest SBs to get your hands on...

Innovation and dopeness at its presence.

price when dropped: rised to around $600
price now: around $1000

dropped from $1500 ever since the dunk low CL denim came out...MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

DUNK SB "TIFFANY"

This pair probably ends the hype cycle as for the year 2006

Fakes all over... maybe that's why the prices are still high...

Prices when dropped and now: still around $250-300

DUNK SB "For Love Or Money" aka FLOM

Designed by Futura, not for sale

The greatest pair of SB in my opinion. both in its outter presence and inner meaning, FOR LOVE OR MONEY is the theme, and the idea just blends in w/ the shoes without looking too overwhelming. I think this is the true collector shoe for any SB lovers; unfortunatelly, this pair is probably gonna cost you $2000 plus.

That's it folks, I'm tired and don't wanna talk about the Paris's or Londons...

All pictures taken from: Vintagekicks.com and Napsize.com

Hint hint, the best places I know of to obtain authentic dunk sbs...in various sizes.

Good night!
